MOVIES THIS WEEKEND: JUNE 29

MOVIES THIS WEEKEND: JUNE 29

1. BABY DRIVER

After being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

CHARLIE: Will this be the best movie ever? Probably. Go see it.

2. DESPICABLE ME 3

Gru meets his long-lost charming, cheerful, and more successful twin brother Dru who wants to team up with him for one last criminal heist.

CHARLIE: A solid movie to go see with your kids, probably not good for much else. At least you get to hear to comedy icons voice the main characters (Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig).

3. THE HOUSE

A dad convinces his friends to start an illegal casino in his basement after he and his wife spend their daughter's college fund.

CHARLIE: This might be funny, but only spend the money on it if you've already seen Baby Driver. That movie will definitely be better and potentially funnier as well.

THE "STAY-IN" BONUS: OKJA

Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend - a massive animal named Okja.

CHARLIE: This will be up on Netflix by the time this weekend rolls around and maybe you're just too damn busy to get to the theater. This will be a good consolation prize for having to stay in. It looks heart-warming and weird and kind of funny.

"GIVE IT CHANCE" BONUS: THE LITTLE HOURS

A young servant fleeing from his master takes refuge at a convent full of emotionally unstable nuns in the Middle Ages. Introduced as a deaf blind man, he must fight to hold his cover as the nuns try to resist temptation.

CHARLIE: This could be great, or it could get very tiresome after the first 30 minutes. If you love the raunchy and a good insult, you'll probably leave the theater crying from laughter. Also, that cast is jam packed full of some of the funniest people out there.
