Disney Ends Contract With Netflix

Disney Ends Contract With Netflix

News recently hit that Disney will end its contract with Netflix so that it can start its own streaming service. When Disney first announced it’s deal with Netflix it was big news. People were excited to get to see all of the new Disney cartoons as well as all of the new Marvel movies, but now you’ll have to purchase the Disney streaming subscription to see those things. Needless to say, a lot of people are disappointed.

Disney isn’t just going to have a streaming service for their films, they also plan to have one for sports. Now a better sports streaming option is an interesting idea. As it is now, most streaming options have to be bought separately for each sport. You can pay to see all of the MLB games or you can pay to see all of the NFL games, but those services aren’t cheap. Disney CEO Bob Iger says this streaming service will, “become a dynamic sports marketplace that will grow and be increasingly customizable, allowing sports fans to pick and choose content that reflects their personal interests.” We’ll have to wait and see if this is better than some of the other sports streaming options. The chances are it won’t be because Disney does have to watch how much it transfers from it’s TV channels to the streaming app.

That is all fine and good, but here at Movie Trailer Trash, we care a lot more about the Disney films. The fact is, it will now be more difficult and more expensive to see Disney once it is out of theater. But, we have until 2019 to continue watching Disney on Netflix! That being said, here are the Disney films you’ll want to watch over the next year and a half before it is taken away from us!

Best Disney Films on Netflix Now (In Alphebetical Order)

  • Atlantis

  • BFG

  • Captain America: Civil War

  • Doctor Strange

  • The Emperor's New Groove

  • Fantasia

  • Finding Dory

  • The Jungle Book

  • Lilo & Stitch

  • Moana

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

  • Pirates of the Caribbean

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

  • Zootopia

You’ll notice that there are several movies that have come out since Disney started showing everything on Netflix that are no longer available. That is because they had been taking down movies every time they put up the newer ones. So you won’t see Star Wars: The Force Awakens or The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron on the list. Even though this is disappointing, Disney was already making it hard on us. They don’t like making it easy to see their stuff, that’s why they they invented the Disney Vault.

So there you have it, a list of the best Disney movies in Netflix today. Don't waste too much time, watch them while you still can.
